The Other Side (Sehun x Reader)

The bell rang, signalling that school was finished. You quickly left the school, ignoring the gossips and whispers that were being said about you. As you arrived, outside of the school, you could see a bunch of girls (from your school) waiting outside the boys school.
You go to an all girls school and weirdly enough, there is an all boys school just opposite it, in fact right across the street. Every year, an annual dance is held with the boys and girls mixed together, after a bunch of dancing lessons together. Normally at dances, you wouldn’t care about whether you were pretty or whether you would be able to dance with someone, but this time you have a reason to care, his name: Oh Sehun. You have never really talked to him, only once.

It was your first day at the school as it was for a bunch of other people. As you were walking on your way, you noticed a boy looking at piece of paper in his hands, confusion written on his face. Being the nice person you are, you walked up to him.
“Excuse me, are you alright?” You asked. The boy turned to look at you and your breath caught in your throat. He was handsome, probably the most handsomest boy you have ever met.
“Yeah,” he answered, snapping you out of your thoughts, “I’m just a little confused about where my school is,” That is when you noticed he was wearing a uniform. You took the map from his hands and looked at it. You smiled.
“It’s literally just across from my school, would you mind if we walk together?” You ask him, handing him back the map. He shakes his head and gives you a small smile. Then, the pair of you head off to the journey towards the school.
As you walk, you make some small talk with him asking questions like “What are you taking for classes?” or “what’s your favourite flavour of Bubble Tea?” and by the time you got to the school, you would have called each other friends.
You arrived at the school, laughing your heads off. That is when you notice where you are, disappointed that you won’t be able to talk to him more. You turn to the boy, who was wiping a tear away from his eye.
“Thanks for taking me to the school,” He says, giving you a quick hug before walking into his school. A faint blush rises to your cheeks and you can still feel the remaining heat from him.

“Anytime,” You whisper, before walking into your own school.


That, was the first and last time that you have talked to him.; that was earlier on this year. Since then, he’s gone into the popular group of boys, all twelve of them, weirdly enough the girls call the group: EXO. Unfortunately, since he was in the popular group and you were a nobody, it was kind of like you were forbidden to talk to him. Which is really hard, especially since it was a love at first sight.
You winced as you heard the girls screaming, meaning that the boys were out. You sighed before walking home.
What you didn’t notice was the one boy you were just thinking about, was looking at you as you walked home. Tao noticed this and elbowed him.
“Is that the girl you were talking about??” He asked. Sehun nodded, looking back at you. Tao smiled a little before pushing Sehun forwards so that he could walk with the group.


*Timeskip*


You groaned as you heard the waltz music start as the girls instantly huddled around EXO, trying to get them to be their partners. You should have known something like this was going to happen, so you weren’t surprised when one by one they were dragged away, to dance the waltz.
“Hey, do you have a partner?” someone asked. You looked up to see Lui, a new boy by the looks of it. You shook your head.
“No but I never have one anyway,” You tell him, looking at Sehun who was dancing with another girl, smiling away, which saddened you a little bit. Lui noticed this and looked towards where you were looking before and smirked slightly. He then grabbed you up, pulling you towards him and started doing the waltz. A bright red blush was spread all over your face.

As you and Lui continued to dance, Sehun looked towards the two of you, whilst dancing with Penny (the most popular girl in school) jealousy was written all over his face.
"What are you looking at Oppa??" Asked Penny, bringing back Sehun's attention towards her. He shook his head and gave her a smile.
“Nothing, don’t worry,” He says as they continue to waltz glancing at you from time to time.


*Another time skip*

You drank some cold water from the drinking fountain, before standing up and stretching. You have never done so much dancing in your life. As you stood back up, you noticed a figure standing beside you. You turn slightly only to have more water splashed onto your face.

“Stay away from Oppa!” someone screamed in your face before running away, back into the hall. You sighed, having suffered from this abuse before. You wiped the water from your face only to feel a towel on your face.


You opened your eyes in surprise to find Sehun was the one, wiping the water from your face. Immediately, shades of red started appearing on your face.
“I’m sorry,” he said, looking into your eyes as he wiped some water from your face. You shook head.
“It’s fine, it’s my fault anyway,” you say, taking the towel away from him and wiping your face dry. You hand it back to him, with a small smile. Just as you’re about to walk away, he yells:
“Do you wanna catch up?!” You stop and turn around.
“No thank you. I don’t want you to ruin you,” You say, before walking back into the hall, to continue the day full of dance. His eyebrows furrow in confusion as to what you could mean before following you into the hall.



*Another time skip* (sorry about all these timeskips -_-)


It was the day before the big dance and as you can imagine, it was very busy.  All the teachers were hurrying about, trying to make sure that the main hall was decorated well for the dance. Students were going around, planning on who to go with for the dance.
Since the teachers were decorating the main hall in the girl’s school, you and all the other girls were at the boy’s school today. Which meant, watching EXO slowly get asked out to the dance one by one. You sighed, knowing Penny would be the one to go with Sehun, but it doesn’t stop a girl from trying does it? I mean a few girls have asked Sehun without any interruptions from Penny, so what’s to stop you?
You looked down at the note in your hand and back towards Sehun who was talking with the group besides the lockers. You sighed and hid behind the corner thinking over your plan.

Ok (y/n), wait until Sehun’s friends leave and then give the note to him, saying it’s from a friend before running away and waiting for an answer. If he doesn’t come to you then he isn’t going with you and may not like you, however it may not go that way so don’t put yourself down like that (y/n)

You smiled slightly after the pep talk and turn the corner again only to see that Sehun was gone but his friends were still there. Your eyes widened as you saw one of his friends, Chanyeol, start laughing in your direction. You quickly whizz back around the corner only to head butt someone. You drop the note in surprise and start rubbing your forehead to get rid of the pain.


“Ouch, that hurt,” a familiar voice said. You looked towards the figure to see Sehun with a hand on his forehead too.

“How did you get here?” You ask him, shocked at how he could get there without you noticing. He smiled when he noticed your shocked expression.
“I noticed you were hiding behind the wall so I went a different way to sneak up on you to scare you, but it seems that you turned around and hit me,” He responded.
“I’m sorry,” you say looking down, embarrassed that you just hit your long time crush. Sehun smiles, shaking his head and brings two fingers under your chin, lifting your head so your (e/c) eyes are meeting his.
“Don’t worry about it,” he says. This makes you blush again but then you notice a small blush going onto his face to. The pair of you look into each other's eyes a bit longer before he coughed awkwardly, putting his hand down.

It was then silent, until he noticed the note on the floor. He bent down and picked it up. You noticed his actions and was about to run away, until he caught your wrist, making sure you don’t escape. You try to struggle but it was no use. He looked towards the note and quickly skimmed it before looking back at you.
“Do you mean it?” He asks. You nod. He quickly pulls you in for a hug and just embraces you. You don’t know how to react to the situation but after a minute, you wrap your arms and around him to and just sink into the hug, enjoying the warmth.


*Time skip*


You are now at the dance, wearing a (f/c) dress that ruffled from the waist to the knees and white ballet flats with your (h/c) hair curled, dancing a slow dance with Sehun.
Apparently you have achieved your dreams of looking good since once you stepped into the main hall, all the boy’s jaws dropped, even Sehun’s did when he picked up from your house. Your mum and dad even teared up a bit seeing you dressed pretty for tonight.
As you looked around the hall, you smiled at how perfect it looked. You then looked at Sehun who had his eyes on you for the whole night. You both stopped dancing and just stared into each other’s eyes.
“You have really beautiful eyes,” he commented. You blushed. As you continued to stare into each other’s eyes, you both slowly leaned in. Soon your eyes closed on instinct as you felt his warm lips on yours.





From then on, you were no longer rejected at your school. You made a few best friends, ones you know you can count on.


You also have an amazing boyfriend and his friends, who would protect you like family.
