Servant (Hak x Reader)

You watched from a far as Princess Yona continued to chase Hak around (probably for something he said about her) whilst Lord Soo-won watched them laughing. You smiled and giggled behind your hand, however the smile was quickly wiped off your face when you heard fast approaching footsteps coming towards you.

"What are you doing (y/n)?!" The master servant yelled as your eyes automatically found the floor, as she glared at you. (I'm not sure if there is such thing as a master servant, but more like a person who makes sure that the servants are doing their job)

"I-I'm sorry Miss. I was just taking a break -" However you were interrupted when you felt an immense pain hit your right cheek. You held on to your cheek, tears now gathering in your eyes as you continued looking down at the floor. You knew that if you looked up, you would see the red face of the master servant.

"Enough of your excuses!" She yelled. You took a quick glance at the Trio to see them all looking at you, which was no surprise since she was screaming from the top of her lungs. "You are coming with me this instant," She yelled whilst grabbing the upper part of your arm and dragging you away. You took one last glance at the Trio and you were surprised to find the look of seriousness in Hak's eyes.

Why can't I ever do things right? You ask yourself.

After that little scene you caused in the courtyard, you were now being punished. As a result of this punishment, you were given a lot of chores to do which needs to be completed as well as no food for dinner.

Now, you were carrying a stack of clean bed sheets to change for the bedrooms of Hiryuu Castle (which is a lot). However you didn’t find this task annoying at all, since you preferred working alone, in fact the only problem at this very moment is the fact the bed sheets nearly covered your whole view and it was difficult to look past them meaning that you were walking around the castle blind. So it wasn’t really a surprise that you bumped into someone, it was bound to happen sooner or later.

You fell to the floor, the bed sheets had fallen out of your hands and somehow landed in a pile on the floor. You looked up expecting to see another servant to apologize since they must of seen you coming down the hallway, however when your eyes did land of the person who made you fall, you froze.

“Lord Hak?” You asked. He looked at you with a small smirk on his face, as his eyebrows lifted. You quickly stood up and bowed, muttering an apology. Hak rolled his eyes and quickly put his hand under your chin so that you were now not only standing up straight but you were looking at his face.

“How many times have I told you (y/n) to just call me Hak,” He responds back. Noticing the closeness of his face, you quickly stepped away with a bright red blush now on your cheeks. Hak frowned when you distanced yourself away from him.

Ever since you arrived at Hiryuu castle, Hak has always been drawn to you. Whether it was the fact that you were the only girl in the castle who was the same age that he was or whether it was the fact that you were easy to talk too which meant that the two of you would get along just fine, you even hoped that it would go somewhere further in the future.. However, as the two of you grew older and older, you were taught your place as a servant and started doing her duties and chores whilst Hak was spending more time with Yona as her bodyguard. Eventually, your relationship grew apart and the only times that the two of you would talk to each other is a simple "Hi" or "Hello" in the hallway. Now you couldn't even look him in the eye because you were lower than him.

You noticed the blankets lying on the floor and started to pick them up, but was surprised when you noticed Hak picking them up too. Once the both of you finished picking them up, you had stood in front of him with the blankets in your hands.

"I appreciate the help, Lord Hak but if you could just-" However Hak didn't listen to you and instead walked past you with the blankets into another bedroom. Your eyebrows scrunched together in confusion and followed him into the bedroom. "What are you doing?" You questioned as he started working on the bed in front of him.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" Hak asked back.

"It looks like your doing my job,"

"I'm helping you (y/n) so why don't you just accept it. That way this job can be done faster," You blushed slightly from embarrassment. You moved on to the next room since Hak had this one covered.

After half an hour, the two of you had finished changing all the bed sheets and just as you had taken out your list of chores to complete, Hak had grabbed the piece of paper out of your hands and scrunched it up in a ball. You were frozen in shock and pointed at the paper ball in his hands.

"What do you plan on doing with that?" Hak only smirked at you and threw the paper ball with all of his power, sending it quite the distance away from where the two of you were standing. Knowing that if you looked on his face right now, either the same smirk or a blank expression would be on his face and would you want to slap it off. You looked down at the floor again and clutched your hands into fists. "W-why did you just do that?"

"Because I needed a break and I know you do too," He answered back as if it was the simplest thing in the world.

"But I'm going to get in really big trouble if I don't complete those chores and now I don't even remember what to do!" You exclaim back forgetting about the fact that he was a higher status than you were. Hak was a little bit shocked at the fact that you shouted at him and this was shown through his wide eyed expression. Realising what you did, you eyes travelled back to their familiar place on the floor, tears gathered in your eyes as well as your hands turning into fists.

Hak snapped out of his trance and looked down at you. He grabbed your hands, letting them out of their fists. Hesitantly, you looked up at his face only to see a genuine smile on his face as well as a look of concern in his eyes. Seeing a stray tear make its journey down your cheek, he wiped it away. Without saying anything he tugged on your hand and started walking through the halls.

After your rant, you kept your mouth shut worrying if you spoke again only profanity would follow.

It's been a few minutes and Hak has led you outside however you weren't familiar with this place. The two of you came to a stop in front a huge tree which easily overpowered any man. Hak sat down in front of it and gestured for you to sit next to him but you made no move to do so. You were still angry at him for what he's done and you wouldn't be surprised if you were kicked out of the castle after today.

When Hak saw your reluctance to sit down and with a roll of his eyes he quickly pulled you down and instead of sitting next to him, you were now sat in his lap with his arms secured tightly around your waist to make sure that you didn't leave. Blushing, you tugged on his hands and struggled for a while before Hak opened his mouth again.

"Will you stop being so stubborn and just relax," With a scowl you muttered a 'fine' before relaxing into his arms. It was silent.

"You know running away from problems usually doesn't do any good," You say as you turn around so that you are facing him. His eyes were closed but opened one eye to acknowledge your presence.

"Who said we were running away?" You raised an eyebrow at this.

"Well by the looks of it, it seems that we are,"

"No we aren't,"

"Are you sure?" He opened his eyes at this and chuckled at the look of seriousness in your face.

"There's only one person who runs from their responsibilities and that's the Princess," You laughed in response. Hak smiled.

"What are you smiling about?" You question.

"You're beautiful when you smile, you know that?" You blushed.

The rest of the afternoon was spent with Hak under Big Ol' Minnie (the name you gave the tree) just catching up as well as light flirting which only reopened those feelings which were kept away a few years ago.

"THIS IS WHERE YOU WERE HIDING!" A voice yelled. You instantly tensed and you felt Hak's arms tighten around you. You both looked up to see the Master Servant stomping towards you her face bright red in anger which could not mean a good sign. You whimpered in Hak's hold slightly, remembering the slap she gave you from before and only imagining even worse things which would happen to you. As she finally reached the two of you, she realised that Hak was there and quickly fixed herself. "Lord Hak, I didn't know you were here, whatever do you think you are doing with that servant?" Hak's eyebrows scrunched together in annoyance at the obvious statement to make you see yourself lower. Suddenly an idea popped into his brain.

A smirk quickly appeared on his face in order to try and keep in confident persona as well as hide his some what excitement for the plan. Taking your face into his hands he brought your lips towards you. Realising what he was doing, out of instinct you closed your eyes and leaned in too until you felt his soft lips against your owns. It wasn't a passionate kiss, nor was it a quick one but you could feel the love and fireworks in there.  You heard a soft gasp come from behind you making you pull away from the kiss. You opened your eyes only to see Hak's blue ones looking into your own, making that blush reappear.  

You both turned your heads towards the Master Servant to see that she was quite flustered with the scene she just witnessed.

"I would be grateful if you would stop treating (y/n) like a lowly servant," He said making you turn your head back towards him, surprise obvious on your face. Hak turned his head back to your direction with a smirk on his face, "after all we are courting with one another,"
